Academic Aspect Of My Life - 898 Words

Strive not to be of success but to be of value were the inspirational words spoken by the prodigious Albert Einstein. From my acknowledgement of this phrase, it has always been the driving force for life, for when I aspire, I aspire to add value not only to my life but to those I come in contact with. As a child, my parents always ensured I had a Christian foundation and excelled both academically and socially. On the academic aspect of my life, I was constantly highlighted for my various achievements such as the highest BJC s and BGCSE s results for my senior high school, Senior Class President, Head Girl and the Class of 2015 s Valedictorian. Socially, I was impelled to join extracurricular activities such as Junior Achievement, 12th Bahamas Scout Group and Revere Dance Ensemble. Here, I was able to exercise my business management skills, survival skills and my dancing skills. As a result of the diverse interactions I have experienced, I could truly say it has formed me into the pe rson I am today. Each activity and achievement has played a vital role in my life because I am able to understand and overcome diversity and this has resulted in my humbling spirit. Nevertheless, with every mountain, there is always a valley nearby. My journey for value was not an easy one. During my preteen years, my family s finances began to fluctuate. My mother was unemployed and my father was pursuing his master s degree. As a result, we did not have a place to call our own.
